In late July 2015, the City of Tucson, Arizona was hit by a torrential storm. More than two inches of rain fell in less than an hour. A local manufacturing company suffered major facility damage when the weight of accumulated water collapsed the roof. As the roof gave way, it knocked out the building’s fire water main, flooding the computer and manufacturing areas with up to two feet of water.
The following day, the company’s Chief Financial Officer showed up at the Ark Tucson facility’s door inquiring whether Ark could get his company’s servers operational by 4:00 P.M. that same day. Administrative workspaces were also needed. ark sprang into action. By 4:00 P.M. that day, as promised, the company’s servers were up and running in the ark Tucson Data Center and 25 workspaces were available for use. By the following week, the company’s operations were again running smoothly.
When another storm rolled into Tucson, causing additional damage to the company’s facility, the company was able to move the balance of its staff into Ark’s Business Continuity workspace and relocate part of its plant services onto an empty data center hall. The company continued to operate out of Ark’s Tucson Data Center facility while its building was being repaired. Thanks to Ark’s Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning services, the company minimized disruption to its operations despite major damage to its primary operational facility.
